Quick Study - Romans 6:7
[Rom 6:7 NASB] 7 for he who has died is freed from sin.
Let me say it a little different, "For the dead man has been declared righteous and is therefore separated from the power of sin."
How did I get there?
The term 'freed' in this passage (δικαιόω) actually means 'to justify' or 'to declare righteous.' Therefore, Paul is talking about our position before God. According to Paul the dead man (those baptized into Christ) stand justified in the eyes of God and are therefore separated/divorced from any and all accusations of sin.
The one who is justified is free from all these things. Why? Because Christ Jesus has made it so!
Question: Do you walk in justification knowing that through Christ there is therefore now no condemnation for you? (NO MATTER WHAT SIN ATTEMPTS TO SAY)
