Good, Good Fathers
In a television interview president Donald Trump was asked if he was a good father, he responded, "I'm a good provider."
With no disrespect intended, there's a huge difference between being a good father and a mere provider. For that matter, the same is true of being a good leader versus simply managing people.
Discovering this difference does take time, but once you get it, it changes everything!
Our job as fathers is not to be some strange disconnected, workaholic, provider. Instead were commanded to be good, present men that lead by example, with compassion and love for those we serve; this is the true definition of a father.
Listen to these words of a godly father, then compare the priorities listed here with your own.
"My son, do not forget my teaching, But let your heart keep my commandments; For length of days and years of life And peace they will add to you. Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute In the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding." - Proverbs 3:1-5 NASB
So... are you a good father?
